The following text is based on UKROFS standards on organic livestock production published in September 2000 and complying with the EU Regulation 1804/99 on organic livestock production. These standards have been adopted, by and large, by most organic certifying bodies in the UK. Where the individual bodies have adopted stricter standards, this will be indicated in italics.
